Does your dog strongly resist taking baths? Q-Pets shares three tips to help your dog gradually come to love bath time:
- Take your dog for a walk before bathing them so they can relieve themselves first. This will reduce their energy and make them less likely to struggle during the bath. Also, washing their anal glands after cleaning up their feces will make them even cleaner.
- Start by rinsing the dog's paws with warm water to allow them to gradually adjust. Then, slowly wet their body and head. Never use a showerhead to directly rinse their head, as this can make dogs that are already afraid of water even more resistant.
- After bathing, remember to give your dog a treat as a reward to leave a good impression on them! Next time you bathe them, they will remember that there will be a treat after the bath.
