Perhaps one day you will need to take your pet out of Hong Kong.
The good news is that the procedures for pets to travel abroad are relatively simple nowadays. As long as your pet receives its rabies vaccination and booster doses (G6 or F3) on time, you book a flight for it, and prepare all the necessary documents and health certificates before boarding, most pets can travel to countries such as the UK, Europe, and North America without quarantine.
Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Indonesia, and Japan have relatively strict requirements for pet entry. Although the general quarantine period is not very long, preparations before departure can take up to six months. If you are planning to travel to any of these countries, it may be worthwhile to contact a pet emigration agency to further discuss your pet's needs. We recommend that owners allow ample time for themselves or the pet emigration agency to prepare, in case the pet entry requirements change.
If you're taking your pet on vacation to an overseas country, some countries require specific blood test certificates and documents. This isn't cheap either – and some people believe their dogs or cats actually prefer relaxing at home.
